JNEC sponsors three area high school students to attend the Government-In-Action Youth Tour to Washington D.C. The winning students are chosen by a selection committee of nine JNEC members representing each district throughout the service area. The all-expense-paid Youth Tour for 2023 begins on June 11th – 19th in Washington D.C. JNEC is proud to sponsor our area students for this unique opportunity.
The Youth Tour focuses on educating youth on rural electrification to better their understanding of electric cooperatives. The tour allows the students to visit historical sites and museums. They also get an opportunity to meet elected officials to understand better how their federal government works.
